Saudia Arabia National Flag, pre 1973.

Sub-collection: Star Spangled Banner Flag House

Saudia Arabia National Flag, pre 1973.
Little is known about the history of this Variant of the Saudi Arabia Flag, it is likely that it was in use from 1938 to 1973 since the current design of the flag was established by a Royal Decree in 1973.

This variant of the flag of Saudi Arabia was prone to be locally produced due to its characteristics; it displays the Shahada written in white Arabic script on a green field with a white and gold hilt sword of Islamic Justice.

It was donated to The Flag House & Star-Spangled Banner Museum by Albert C. Hillyard.
