Silk, silk thread, hand stitched. Thirteen red and white alternating stripes, top stripe red, bottom stripe red. Union/canton 11 inches w. x 11.75 inches h. with 20 stars, 1 inch across, crocheted on the obverse and reverse sides. Hand Crocheted circa 1941 wool - Baltimore, Md. Framed (outside dimensions 26 x 40).

Provenance: Acquired by the Zaricor Flag Collection (ZFC0151) in 1996 from the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House Collection of Baltimore, MD. Donor to the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House was Mrs. Katherine Unger in 1941.

Date: About 1940 1941
Comment: Mrs. Katherine Unger donated this flag to the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House in 1941. It is thought that she crocheted it with 20 stars to commemorate the forthcoming 125th anniversary of Mississippis admission into the Union in December of 1942.
Provenance: Acquired by the Zaricor Flag Collection (ZFC0151) from the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House Museum in 1996.
