U.S. Unofficial 47 Star flag representing New Mexico's statehood.
This is an unofficial flag of the United States, nevertheless some flag makers did produce 47 star flag to recognize the statehood of New Mexico in the 1 month and 8 days the United States contained only 47 states. Arizona joined the Union on 14 February 1912 rendering the 47 star flag obsolete.
This professionally made, machine sewn, wool flag displays its 47 stars in staggered horizontal rows of 8-8-8-8-8-7. 47 star flag are rare, commercial flags like this with only 47 stars are rarer still as most specimens are Conversion Flags.
