Gene Cernan Autographed NASA Apollo 17 Mission Photo.
This is an autographed photograph of Apollo 17 astronaut and moonwalker Capt. Eugene Cernan. The reverse is imprinted, "APOLLO 17 EVA ON MOON - Astronaut Eugene A. Cernan, commander of the Apollo 17 lunar landing mission, salutes the U.S. flag during the first extravehicular activity (EVA-1) at the Taurus-Littrow landing site. Cernan is a captain in the U.S. Navy. This photograph was taken by Scientist-Astronaut Harrison H. "Jack" Schmitt, Apollo 17 lunar module pilot. A portion of the Lunar Roving Vehicle is on the left. The lunar mountain in the background is South Massif."

This was the last Apollo Mission and the last time the US Flag was planted upon the lunar surface.

Provenance: Acquired in 2008 by purchase at an Internet auction.
