Germany, 3rd Reich, H. Vpfl. (Heeres Verpflegung), "Army Food Supply" burlap sack. So pervasive was the use of the national eagle in the 3rd Reich that they were used on everything from the resplendent to the rugged, including burlap sacks. This example, dated 1939, is marked "H. Vpfl." Is from early in the war. Although created for food supply, in practice, they were actually used to hold almost anything.
