Special Memorial Day Display Flags on Easels in the Moraga Room and Moraga annex Presidio of San Franciscos Officers Club Memorial Day 2003 20-Star Crocheted Commemorative United States Flag Date: About 1940 1941 Comment: Mrs. Katherine Unger donated this flag to the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House in 1941. It is thought that she crocheted it with 20 stars to commemorate the forthcoming 125th anniversary of Mississippis admission into the Union in December of 1942. Provenance: Acquired by the Zaricor Flag Collection (ZFC0151) from the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House Museum in 1996. An important artifact from the Star Spangled Banner Flag House Collection.
