Automobile Flag of the U.S Permanent Representative to NATO.
The Automobile Flag of The United States Permanent Representative to NATO, more commonly called the US Ambassador to NATO, is used to identify the vehicle in which the ambassador used to travel in. Although the use of these flags has waned for security reasons during the Global War on Terror, the flag remains a visible reminder of the importance of NATO during the Cold War; the appointment of an ambassador level diplomat to NATO.

The flag has its origins in the US flag for an ambassador to a sovereign nation, which displays the US Arms on a blue field within a circle of 13 white five pointed stars.

Ambassadors to those other than sovereign nations also use this flag.

Provenance:
- Acquired by purchase in 2009 at Bay Area Militaria Show, San Jose, California.
