The cotton field of this noteworthy variant is printed with 13 horizontal alternating red and white stripes each about 1 inch wide, top stripe is red, bottom stripe is red. In the upper, hoist corner of the field, and extending through seven stripes from the top, is a dark blue printed canton (union) 6.5 inches wide on the fly x 7 inches, with 42 stars, each 2 inches across, printed on the obverse and reverse sides. These stars are arranged in six horizontal rows of seven stars each. The flag was probably glued to a small stick (now missing) for waving at patriotic ceremonies or political campaigns.
