U.S. 24 Star Flag admission of Missouri as a new state of the union.
The flag large wool flag represents Missouri, the 24th state to enter the Union in 1821. All of the flags' attributes point to period construction except the hoist and backing which are believed to be a replacement and a conservation which allowed for continual display. Such care speaks to the importance this flag once had to its previous owners.
This flag is inscribed "777 E. C. Foo" the rest is indistinguishable.

U.S. Flags bearing 24 stars were current for over 14 years, from 1821 to 1836, a formative and important period in U.S. History. Even so, they are relatively rare, as many are believed to have been converted into higher star counts.
