Original Vintage 1877 38 Star American Flag US Colorado

Original 38 star US flag. 6 foot printed on wool bunting, with unusual 7-5-7-7-5-7 canton. Three piece machine construction with 3 original brass grommets. Bears patent date of 1870. Colors are very bold with essentially no fading or soiling. Overall condition is good, with some early repair and mothing. One star has been repaired, with a hand sewn replacement. This is an early, signed repair by "Miss Anne", and bears seamstress mark. I have included several detailed photos of the problem areas. The 38 star flag was in use from 1877, when Colorado joined the Union, until 1889. This flag presents very well and really needs nothing but a good home. This is a chance for someone to acquire an original piece of US history from the Indian war era. The 7-5-7-7-5-7 canton is uncommon and beautifully symmetric. You will not be disappointed with this one.
